Description
letter from the council chamber at st james's london to lord viscount cranbourn, lord of the rolls of the county of hertford, urging him to impress upon the justices of the peace in the county of hertford to do all in their power to searchout and apprehend rogues and vagabonds.
The letter is dated 1775, at which time Viscount Cranbourne and Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire was James Cecil, 1st Marquess of Salisbury (1748 - 1823), whose family lived at Hatfield House.
