Description
Monochrome steel engraving showing the proposed renovations of the Clock Tower. The restoration was completed in 1866 but had just one clock face, rather than the two shown here and the roof top parapet had one less crenel (gap) and merlon (solid width).
A couple with a small child look in the window of the shop on the corner of High Street and Market Place, at this time a tobacconist.
