Description
'The White Hart', Holywell Hill, St Albans.
Watercolour copied by H.R Wilton-Hall from an original sketch by Pridmore (c.1800), given to The Rev. Canon Glossop, 28th October 1923.
Initialled on reverse H.R.W.H., 1907.
During the late Victorian era the White Hart was a popular resort for the cycling clubs based in London. Not least of its attractions was that assisting the Landlord in the running of the place were his three very attractive daughters, two of whom eventually married cyclists.
