Description
Cast bronze jug of Julio- Caludian date. It comprises four soldered components: pedestal with acanthus decoration, body with decorated lip/ rim, handle with chased leaf design and silver pellets, terminating in a Medusa head where it joins the body. Figurine perhaps of a Bacchic god, puring wine from the [lost] vessel in his right hand intot he [lost] cu in this eft. The serpentine legs of this figure clasp teh rim of the jug, while the handle joins it back.
