Description
"
The Clock Tower, 5 years after Gilbert Scott's renovation of 1866, with the railed in water pump in the foreground.
The posters on the pump's railings are for Grace Egerton, due to perform at the Corn Exchange on 11th April 1871, and the Midlands Railways, advertising a day trip to London over Easter 1871.
This is one of the last photos of the water pump before it was replaced by Mrs Worley's Fountain in 1872.
