Seated group portrait of Mrs Ellen Holland-Hibbert and her children, c.1892. Mrs Holland-Hibbert, seen here with daughter Elsie and son Thurston, was the wife of the 3rd Viscount Knutsford of Munden. The Holland-Hibbert family can trace their history at Munden House, Bricket Wood back 394 years. As a consequence of the Edwardian fashions for dressing pre-school children the same way and young boys often wore dresses, as seen here (See Wheeler and Stephens, p.31.).
