Head and shoulders portrait of Mr W.H.Bingham-Cox. The appearance of the card suggests that this photograph was taken around 1880.
The legend appears to be handwritten but is in fact printed, and reads: "With the Compliments of W.H.Bingham-Cox".
Mr. Bingham-Cox was a brewer from St Albans who was an Independent Conservative candidate for the old Mid Herts Parliamentary Division. He founded the Bingham-Cox Cup, first played for in 1892. He died in 1899.
