Description
Pencil drawing with monochrome wash captioned in pencil bottom centre "North Door, St Albans [Abbey]" prior to the restoration of the Abbey in the 1880s by Lord Grimthorpe. Not signed, no date.
This doorway is the north entrance to the public passageway which used to separate the Lady Chapel from the main body of St Albans Abbey. This view is from the Abbey Cloisters, also known as Waxhouse Gate.
