Description
Typical example of a small Colchester brooch. It has a short, flat, slightly ribbed crossbar covering a spring of 8 turns formed from the same piece of metal as the bow. The chord is held by a second projection from the head turned back to form a crest on top of the bow. The bow itself is a plain rounded rod, tapering slightly towards the umarked foot. the catchplate has 2 rounded perforations.
