With round-sectioned iron handle; maker's marks WM GREAVES / & SONS / SHEAF WORKS / SHEFFIELD, and ELECTRO / BORACIC / STEEL; 400 mm. Used for cutting the chiv, and often the chime, of a cask. The nature of electro-boracic steel (most frequently marked on coopers’ tools) is a mystery – it may have been a meaningless sales gimmick
